The wider storm
On December 27, 2024, a strong upper-level system over the central CONUS, combined with a slow-moving frontal boundary, led to the development of severe thunderstorms across the Mississippi Sound. These storms produced gusty winds up to 50mph.
Began near East of Chandeleur Island (30.2100, -88.5100).
