An area of low pressure tracking from the Carolinas northeastward off the East Coast brought a widespread light to moderate snowfall to eastern New York on January 19-20, 2025. The greatest snowfall amounts occurred across areas mainly south of Interstate 90 and near the New York/New England border where 3 to 7 inches of snow were common. Farther north, lighter amounts occurred with values generally 4 inches or less. Slippery/icy travel occurred as a result of the snowfall.
