Per Utah Highway Patrol, a crash involving 14 vehicles occurred, closing down all northbound lanes of I-15 in Spanish Fork for at least 30 minutes, after which point some flow of traffic resumed. One driver was reportedly transported to a hospital in stable condition. Light snow showers associated with the final portion of a winter system were ongoing around this time, likely with some periods of lake induced enhancement. Nearby, the Spanish Fork Municipal Airport AWOS (KSPK) reported deteriorated conditions ahead of the incident, with observations nearest the time of the incident indicating snow and freezing fog with visibility of 0.25 miles.

On the back end of a modest winter storm, lingering precipitation (with some lake enhancement likely) resulted in impacts to transportation and commerce.
