Buoy station GNJT2 at the Galveston Bay entrance north Jetty measured a 40 MPH wind gust from a strong thunderstorm moving off the coast.

Strong thunderstorms pushed over the bays and waters on the 28th of December, one of which was a tornadic storm which likely produced a waterspout.

Began near Freeport (29.3600, -94.7200).
