The wider storm

A series of weak disturbances interacted with a tight baroclinic zone in place behind an arctic cold front, producing a prolonged period of light snow across much of southwest South Dakota. Snowfall totals were mostly in the 3 to 7 inch range across these areas over about a 36 to 48 hour period. The snow resulted in mostly minor travel impacts.
