Law enforcement closed Idaho Route 36 from the Mink Creek area eastward over Emigration Summit due to severe winter conditions with numerous vehicles off the highway. Well over a foot of snow fell in the Bear River Range over the storm's duration.

Wider weather episode

A long protracted Pacific flow brought heavy snow to southeast Idaho with travel impacts in between the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
