The Rainbow Canyon SNOTEL estimated 21 inches of new snow.

Wider weather episode

Low pressure directed an atmospheric river into the Mojave Desert and southern Great Basin, resulting in heavy snow in the mountains. After the atmospheric river had departed, the low passed overhead, and the cold temperatures aloft helped trigger thunderstorms, two of which produced severe winds.
