A member of the public reported snow just north of Cleveland on the night of the 20th. Later that night, the Texas Department of Transportation reported patches of ice and snow on bridges and overpasses along US 59 between Cleveland and Shepherd.

A major winter storm impacted southern United States across the Gulf coast, producing what would go on to be historic levels of snowfall in some areas over Southeast Texas.
