Event narrative
Multiple reports of snow were received across Polk county. Initially, a member of the public reported snow flurries just outside of Livingston on the night of the 20th. Snowfall rates increased through the early morning of the 21st, then diminished during the late morning. Afterwards, an emergency coordinator reported 1.5 inches of snowfall on the ground on the east side of Lake Livingston. CoCoRaHS Station TX-PL-16 reported 2 inches of snow in Livingston. CoCoRaHS Station TX-PL-40 reported 1.8 inches of snow south of Livingston.

A major winter storm impacted southern United States across the Gulf coast, producing what would go on to be historic levels of snowfall in some areas over Southeast Texas.
