Event narrative

Numerous reported of snowfall were received from northern Liberty county. Precipitation began on the evening on the 20th as members of the public reported snow flurries on highway 321 between Dayton and Cleveland. Precipitation rates increased overnight, then diminished during the late morning. Reports from the public, CoCoRaHS station TX-LR-20 and an Emergency manager showed 2.0-5.0 inches of snowfall across the northern portion of the county.

A major winter storm impacted southern United States across the Gulf coast, producing what would go on to be historic levels of snowfall in some areas over Southeast Texas.
