Heavy snow fell in Honaker, primarily during the late morning to early afternoon hours when four inches of snow fell. A lull in snow occurred between 1430 and the evening hours when additional snow fell.

Isentropic lifting helped produce stratiform precipitation across Virginia, leading to snow accumulations across the area. Precipitation began as snow before eventually switching to rain.
