Home weather station just west of the Boca Grande Causeway near the northern end of Gasparilla Island along Gasparilla Sound reported a 55 mph wind gust.

Thunderstorms associated with a sharp shortwave trough moving across the eastern Gulf and attendant surface low pressure system produce gusty marine winds from Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound to areas around San Carlos Bay and the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River.
