Snowfall totaled 5.5 inches at Arthur, 5.0 inches at Battle Creek, 4.5 inches at Ida Grove, and 3.5 inches 4 miles south-southwest of Arthur.

Wider weather episode

Low to mid-level frontogenesis strengthened ahead of a subtle wave in cyclonic flow aloft to produce an area of snow across northeast Nebraska into northwest Iowa. The highest snowfall of 3 to nearly 6 inches of snow occurred along a narrow band from northeast Nebraska eastward through areas south of Highway 20 in northwest Iowa.
