Numerous reported of snowfall were received from chambers county. Precipitation began on the evening on the 20th as a local fire department reported snow flurries in Anahuac.

Precipitation rates increased overnight, then diminished during the late morning. Reports from the public, CoCoRaHS station TX-CHM-15 and Emergency managers showed 3.0-5.0 inches of snowfall across the area. The highest snowfall amount was measured near Hankamer.

Wider weather episode

A major winter storm impacted southern United States across the Gulf coast, producing what would go on to be historic levels of snowfall in some areas over Southeast Texas.
