2025-02-18 to 2025-02-20 · Buchanan, Virginia
Wider weather episode
On the evening of February 18th, snow showers began to creep into southwest Virginia as a low pressure system emerged from the heart of the country and skirted by to the south of the state. Embedded waves of moisture promoted periods of heavier snow showers for an extended period of time, resulting in overall totals ranging between 3 to 6 inches throughout late February 18th into the early afternoon of the 20th. The disturbance then shifted off the eastern seaboard, allowing for drier weather to resume across southwest Virginia.
