Event narrative

A member of the public reported damage to his property. A shed with metal siding and a wooden frame was destroyed, with pieces of wood thrown several hundred years. Posts cemented 8-10 ft in the ground were pulled up with the cement. A 20 by 20 equipment shed was moved and angled around 45 degrees.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms formed near and behind a slow moving cold front as an upper trough worked its way through the Plains. Storms produced a combination of large hail and very intense damaging winds up to 85-90 mph. One person was killed in Ellis County when the RV he was in was blown over and rolled several times.
