A trained spotter reported 4.0 inches at 1 N River Vale and a Cocorahs observer reported 3.8 inches at 1.8 ESE Montvale.

A progressive upper / mid level trough lead to low pressure moving across the Ohio Valley with a secondary low developing just off the coast. Temperatures were warm and above freezing much of the time along the coast, but often at or below freezing for mainly the northwestern interior. This led to an advisory level snowfall across a good portion of Northeast New Jersey zones.
