Winter Weather in Kershaw, South Carolina

Light snow moved into the area by mid afternoon with a brief period of moderate snow late into the evening and night. Snowfall accumulations of between a half inch and an inch based mostly on CoCoRaHS reports.

A strong upper level trough moved into the southeastern US with a developing surface low moving near the Georgia and South Carolina coast. Light snow began in the morning but as warm advection and frontogenesis strengthened, a band of moderate to heavy snow developed by the evening of the 21st, continuing into the overnight with amounts exceeding 2 inches in the southeastern Midlands.
