A potent clipper low pressure system impacted western Massachusetts late Wednesday, December 4 through Friday December 6, bringing widespread light to moderate and elevation-dependent, heavy snowfall and gusty winds. The heaviest snow fell in the northern Berkshires where upslope enhancement contributed to moderate to heavy accumulations. Peak wind gusts throughout the region generally reached 30 to 45 mph with a peak gust of 47 mph at the Pittsfield Airport.
