A clipper low pressure system brought scattered, light snow showers to portions of eastern New York, mainly north and west of Albany, on the afternoon of Saturday, January 25. Accumulations resulting from these showers were minimal. However, upon the passage of the system's cold front, lake effect snow bands developed off of Lake Ontario, bringing light to locally moderate snowfall to portions of the Southwest Adirondacks beginning late Saturday night through early Monday morning, January 27, 2025. Up to 6 inches fell in the most persistent snow bands.
