Winds generally gusted 50 to 60 mph. In New Bedford the ASOS at the airport (KBED) gusted to 60 mph at 11:01 AM EST.

A strong low was centered over the Gulf of Maine on the morning of the 7th creating a tight pressure gradient across southern New England. This led to strong wind gusts generally 45 to 60 mph but as high as 70 mph in the highest elevations of MA.
