Winds generally gusted 40 to 60 mph. The strongest gust was 61 mph on Children's Island at 12:08 PM EST.

A strong low was centered over the Gulf of Maine on the morning of the 7th creating a tight pressure gradient across southern New England. This led to strong wind gusts generally 45 to 60 mph but as high as 70 mph in the highest elevations of MA.
