Event narrative
Winds generally gusted 40 to 60 mph. The strongest gust was 61 mph from the Bedford Airport ASOS (KBED) at 11:45 AM EST. In Wayland numerous trees fell including on one police car. In Westford a large tree was down on Carlisle Rd. In Carlisle a tree and wires were down on Concord Rd.
Wider weather episode
A strong low was centered over the Gulf of Maine on the morning of the 7th creating a tight pressure gradient across southern New England. This led to strong wind gusts generally 45 to 60 mph but as high as 70 mph in the highest elevations of MA.
