Winter Storm — Madison, Arkansas

2025-02-18 to 2025-02-19 · Madison, Arkansas

Wider weather episode

A strong upper level disturbance approached the Southern Plains from the Central Rockies on the 18th. Arctic air had spread across northwestern Arkansas ahead of this system on the 17th, and after a brief period of mixed precipitation during the early morning hours of the 18th, all the precipitation fell as snow across northwest Arkansas. The snow continued to fall into the early morning hours of the 19th, and was heavy at times. Four to eight inches of snow occurred across the region. Since temperatures had fallen into the single digits and teens during the day, snow accumulated on roads, making traveling hazardous, and indeed, many accidents were reported.
