Heavy snow totaling 7 to 9 inches occurred in Jefferson County, Indiana. Ice accumulation of around 0.10 inches also occurred.

Wider weather episode

A major winter storm impacted the Ohio Valley on January 5-6, 2025. When all was said and done, the storm had dropped a swath of heavy snow and sleet ranging between 6 and 12 inches across southern Indiana. In addition, ice accumulation of 0.10 inches to 0.25 inches occurred in southern Indiana. Nearly 100,000 people were without power by Monday morning across southern Indiana and central Kentucky. The storm then ended Monday afternoon with one last round of snow ranging between 1 to 3 inches. By Monday night, many area roads and streets were still snow and ice covered, with close to 50,000 people still without power. Several days of intense cold then followed the storm, exacerbating its impact.
