Thunderstorms developed across the southeastern Texas Panhandle and moved east during the evening of April 8th. The atmosphere had enough instability in place for a few storms to become strong and produce sub-severe hail. A much larger convective complex moved into the Texas Panhandle from the south during the early morning hours of the 9th. These storms also produced some sub-severe hail.
