Wind chill temperatures dropped to well below -30 in the Teton Valley on the morning of the 20th. The coldest readings were -46 three miles south southwest of Ashton and -38 at the Driggs-Reed Memorial Airport.

Wider weather episode

A strong Canadian cold front brought the coldest temperatures of the winter season to southeast Idaho. Several apparent temperature readings of -20 to -55 degrees were recorded after midnight through mid morning on the 20th.
