The entire zone remained in Severe(D2) drought. There was no precipitation at the Elk Cooperative Observer which was 0.33 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

Little to no precipitation fell in February which lead to many areas seeing worsening drought conditions in southern New Mexico.
