Winter Storm — Lewis, New York

2025-01-28 to 2025-01-30 · Lewis, New York

Wider weather episode

A quick moving clipper system tracking directly across northern New York caused moderate to heavy snowfall across portions of the Buffalo forecast area. This was especially the case for areas east of Lake Ontario where closer proximity to the passing surface low, combined with lake enhancement and terrain influences caused over a foot of snow to accumulate in some areas. While snow was widespread across the entire Buffalo forecast area, the greatest amounts occurred over Lewis County.

Snowfall amounts include: 16.5 inches in Constableville, 14.2 inches in Highmarket, 10.0 inches in Lowville and 9.0 inches in Chases Lake.
