A nearby decaying thunderstorm produced a 60 mph wind gust at Clayton Municipal Airport.

Wider weather episode

A weak upper low moved across the desert southwest pulling up some Pacific and Gulf moisture into the state. Daytime heating resulted in the development of a mix of drier and wet showers and storms during the afternoon and early evening hours. As storms decayed around sunset, it helped produce a 60 mph wind gust at Clayton Municipal Airport.
