Up to around 1 inch of snow fell across the county.

Cold air filtered into northern Alabama behind a cold front during the evening into the overnight hours on Tuesday, February 18th. As precipitation developed along and just north of the front during the evening hours, it fell as light snowfall. This precipitation continued until a few hours after daybreak on Wednesday (February the 19th) as light or moderate snowfall. One to two inches of snowfall accumulation was common across northern Alabama after this activity ended early Wednesday morning. Temperatures continued to be below freezing much of the day, keeping roads icy. 20 car crashes in Madison county occurred through 8 AM on Wednesday due to the slick conditions. Car crashes were also reported in Lauderdale county on the Singing River Bridge.
