A trained spotter 3 miles NW of Grande Ronde measured 0.25in of freezing rain at 0700 2/14 which had fallen on top of 1.75 inches of snowfall. Based on LSRs in the area, around 2-3 inches of snowfall fell around the northern portion of the forecast zone through the morning of 2/14.
Wider weather episode
Abnormally cold conditions were in place early on February 13th as widespread precipitation increased across the region south to north due to the arrival of a warm-frontal boundary. This overrunning scenario led to a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain impacting much of western Oregon through February 14th.
