A very cold airmass remained over the central CONUS the night of the 18th into the morning of the 19th. Air temperatures dropped into the teens and single digits below zero over northwest Wisconsin under clear skies. Winds were generally light and most areas remained above extreme cold criteria. However, wind chills reached -37F near Grantsburg the morning of the 19th.
