Event narrative

A public report in northeast Pony, MT (right next to the zone line) measured 10 inches of heavy wet snow.

Wider weather episode

An upper-level trough passed through Montana and brought a few passing upper-air disturbances through the region. This brough periods of mountain snow and rain & snow at lower elevations over the span of a few days. A cold front decreased snow levels down to the lower elevations on the night of the 28th through morning of the 29th. Heavier, localized snow banding brought moderate to heavy snow in the northerly upslope areas of the Little Belts Mountains and Tobacco Roots Mountains.
