2025-02-13 to 2025-02-14 · West Columbia River Gorge - Sr 14, Washington

Event narrative

Based on local storm reports in the region, there is high confidence 2-4.5 inches of snowfall accumulated by the morning of 2/14, thus verifying the warning. WSDOT also required chains and/or traction tires 02/13 to 02/14 due to the deteriorated road conditions.

Wider weather episode

Abnormally cold conditions were in place early on February 13th as widespread precipitation increased across the region south to north due to the arrival of a warm-frontal boundary. This overrunning scenario led to a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain impacting much of western Oregon through February 14th.
