Around 20 to 30 vehicles were involved in a series of crashes 3 miles west of Multnomah falls on I-84 1000-1200 02/13 due to snow, road ice, and low visibility. This impact verifies the warning. Based on LSRs in the region between 2-4.5 inches of snow likely fell.
Wider weather episode
Abnormally cold conditions were in place early on February 13th as widespread precipitation increased across the region south to north due to the arrival of a warm-frontal boundary. This overrunning scenario led to a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain impacting much of western Oregon through February 14th.
