Light snow fell in Lee County, two reports one in the morning, one in the evening had the same amounts. A spotter in Jonesville recorded 1.5 inches of snow by 11:30 AM EST, and then a report from Pennington Gap was received in the evening of 1.5 inches of snow.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front brought post frontal snow to southwest Virginia, followed by several hours of highly banded northwest flow snow showers, leading to significant accumulations for mainly elevated locations.
