Steady snow in the morning followed by heavier snow in the afternoon led to a last report of 1.5 inches of snow in Petros, with the final inch of snow occurring in an hour between 1600 and 1700 EST. Radar indicates light snow continued to fall after the final report was received.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front ushered in an initial burst of snow on the backside of the front, followed by several hours of highly banded northwest flow snow showers. The heaviest accumulations occurred at significant elevations.
