A low pressure system tracking south of the region brought a period of moderate to heavy snowfall across eastern New York from the evening hours on February 8 through the morning hours on February 9, 2025 before ending. The heaviest snowfall amounts occurred across areas north of Interstate 90 where 6 to 12 inches were common. Lighter accumulations occurred along and south of Interstate 90 with amounts between 2 and 6 inches, with some patchy light freezing drizzle also occurring during the overnight hours.
