Snowfall ranged from 9 to 11 inches across coastal Currituck county. The emergency manager measured 11 inches of snow in Corolla Village, NC.

A significant winter storm occurred over the Mid-Atlantic February 19-20 2025. Arctic 1050mb high pressure built into the area early on the 19th. Two mid level disturbances began to phase over eastern North Carolina with periods of heavy snowfall featuring 1 to 2 inch per hour snowfall rates. Very cold temperatures resulted in mostly snow across the region, though some sleet did mix in near the Albemarle Sound. Snow totals ranged from around 5 inches for areas west of Interstate 95 to 14 inches in Currituck County.
