The observer located 3.6 miles south-southeast of Aurora measured 7 inches of snow.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system crossed east through the Ohio Valley as very cold air was entrenched over the region. Warm air ahead of the system overlapped with deep moisture to create a significant band of snow that immobilized the region along and north of the Ohio River.
