In Maysville, 9 inches of snow had fallen. A report of 7 inches was received from 5 miles west of Lewisburg.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system crossed east through the Ohio Valley as very cold air was entrenched over the region. Warm air ahead of the system overlapped with deep moisture to create a significant band of snow that immobilized the region along and north of the Ohio River.
