In Eaton, the CoCoRaHS observer measured 4.9 inches of snow. Surrounding observations indicate that 6 to 9 inches fell near or along the county border.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system crossed east through the Ohio Valley as very cold air was entrenched over the region. Warm air ahead of the system overlapped with deep moisture to create a significant band of snow that immobilized the region along and north of the Ohio River.
