Abnormally dry conditions resulted in the return of Severe Drought (D2) conditions across northwestern Connecticut, per the U.S. Drought Monitor, beginning on February 4, 2025 and continued through the rest of the month. The Stage 2 drought advisory, per the Connecticut Interagency Drought Workgroup, continued through the month. At this stage, residents and businesses were encouraged to minimize unnecessary water usage.
