Event narrative
Strong southerly winds through Isabel Pass emerged into the Delta Junction area with a station MGTA2 at the Fort Greely main gate seeing about an hour of wind gusts near 60 mph.
Wider weather episode
A deep low over the eastern Aleutians in tandem with a strong Siberian high produced string south winds through the interior and Alaska Range while driving a potent front across the Bering and into portions of western Alaska producing locally heavy snowfall.
