Freezing rain and freezing drizzle developed across northwest Indiana during the evening of February 5th and continued into the early morning of February 6th. Isolated thunderstorms developed across portions of northwest Indiana during the evening of February 5th producing narrow corridors of quick accumulating ice. Total ice accumulations ranged between one and two tenths of an inch. Numerous traffic accidents and spin outs were reported. Valparaiso Airport reported 0.08 inches of ice accumulation.
