Mesonet station SNPMT Sunpoint measured multiple gusts greater than 59mph, peaking with a 65 mph gust. Mesonet station LGPVC Logan Pass (GNP) also reported high winds.
Wider weather episode
A break down in the upper-level ridge brought strong mid-level winds and a strengthening pressure gradient across the Continental Divide. This brought strong surface winds to the Rocky Mountain Front, with these winds spreading out further east over time.
