Three sensors measured wind chills of -35F or less, including AWOS sensor KRVF Twin Bridges, which measured a -36F wind chill.

Wider weather episode

Northerly surface winds in place combined with a northwesterly flow aloft east of an upper level ridge promoted the combination of cold temperatures and breezy winds across portions of the region. The combination allowed for wind chills to dip below 35 below in many locations.
