Event narrative

A large part of a tree snapped and landed onto parked cars in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. The O'Hare ASOS gusted to 45 mph around the time of the incident.

Wider weather episode

Strong non-thunderstorm winds on either side of a system of thunderstorms brought localized damage to the area on the 14th and stretching into the 15th. A wind advisory was in effect on the 14th and a high wind warning was in effect during the morning of the 15th advertising gusts as high as 60 mph.
