The Camp Creek NOAA ATDD weather station is recording periodic strong wind gusts, the highest was 61 mph at 4:00 AM, but it continued to record strong wind gusts to 10 AM.

An upper trough helped power a 150 knot jet streak, which in turn powered isentropic lift, bringing enough wintry mix to the higher elevations to cause limited impacts. Meanwhile, a temperature gradient across the southern Appalachians fueled a density driven wind event in Camp Creek in Greene County.
